Aerial Drone Services

Licensed drone operators delivering cinematic aerial footage across Spain.

Scroll

Aerial drone services deliver cinematic overhead and sweeping perspectives across Spain's diverse landscapes—from Barcelona's Mediterranean coastline to the arid beauty of Andalusia. Drones provide cost-effective aerial coverage for establishing shots, architectural reveals, and any production requiring elevated viewpoints over iconic Spanish scenery.

We coordinate fully AESA-licensed aerial drone services that comply with Spanish aviation regulations and EU-wide EASA drone rules. Our team manages flight permits, restricted zone authorizations, and safety assessments to ensure your production captures stunning aerial footage safely and legally at every location.

AESA-licensed commercial drone operators and ENAIRE airspace coordination through Pilot Plus and Drone Spain rosters

Here is how this works in practice. Spanish aerial-drone production runs under AESA (Agencia Estatal de Seguridad Aérea) commercial-operator certifications and ENAIRE airspace coordination across Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona-El Prat, Málaga. Palma de Mallorca and the Canary Islands ENAIRE Canarias sector. Pilot-roster flow comes through Pilot Plus and Drone Spain operator pools. The same teams that flew aerial second-unit on Game of Thrones (the Sevilla Alcázar Dorne, Almería desert Slaver's Bay, Bilbao San Juan de Gaztelugatxe Dragonstone and Trujillo Cáceres locations). Indiana Jones Dial of Destiny. Star Wars Attack of the Clones at Sevilla Plaza de España.

Solo Star Wars Story on Fuerteventura. Wonder Woman 1984 across Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, Black Crab on Fuerteventura. In the Heart of the Sea on Lanzarote and Fast & Furious 6 across Tenerife and Gran Canaria. The standard cinema-aerial rig is DJI Inspire 3 with Zenmuse X9-8K Air gimbal (ProRes RAW + ARRI LogC3 emulation). DJI Inspire 2 with X7 carrying CinemaDNG/ProRes for productions standardising on the older codec. DJI Mavic 3 Cine for compact run-and-gun. And DJI Matrice 350 RTK heavy-lift carrying RED Komodo X. ARRI Alexa Mini LF or Sony Venice 2 Extension System on Freefly Movi gimbals.

Here is the short of it. Permit shepherding is where the difference between a clean shoot and a stalled call sheet shows. Madrid Royal Palace, Barcelona Sagrada Familia. Sevilla Alcázar and Alhambra Granada sit inside set up restricted-airspace zones needing advance AESA and ENAIRE coordination plus property-owner authorisation through Patrimonio Nacional. The respective city Ayuntamiento and the heritage-site running bodies. UNESCO zones (Toledo, Salamanca, Córdoba's Mezquita, Mallorca Tramuntana, Camino de Santiago) carry their own sign-off layers.

Here is the breakdown. The Canary Islands 50% production rebate makes Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote priority aerial zones with their own ENAIRE Canarias sector coordination. Summer 40°C+ Sevilla, Almería and Madrid heat protocols add pre-flight battery thermal running, ESC condensation cycles and shortened return-to-home margins for thinner hot-air density. Canary Islands trade-wind environment (consistent 25-40 km/h surface winds on Fuerteventura and Lanzarote) drives gimbal-tuning protocols and extended-flight return-margin envelopes. Bilingual ES/EN crew coordination is standard. NAV-equivalent ATA carnet through AEAT clears imported gear cleanly.

FAQ

Aerial Cinematography Expertise

What drone certifications do your pilots have?

All our pilots hold Spanish aviation authority certifications required for commercial drone operations. Many also hold certifications from other aviation authorities. We maintain full documentation including flight logs, insurance, and operational manuals.

Can you fly drones in cities like Madrid?

Urban drone flying in Spain requires special authorizations. Madrid has significant restricted airspace, but we can obtain permits for specific locations with advance notice. We handle all regulatory submissions and coordinate with authorities.

What cameras can you mount on drones?

We operate everything from integrated camera systems like DJI Inspire and Mavic lines to heavy-lift platforms carrying RED, ARRI Mini, and other cinema cameras. We match the platform to your image quality requirements and shot complexity.

Do you provide FPV drone services?

Yes, we have experienced FPV pilots for dynamic shots including chase sequences, indoor flying, and high-speed proximity work. Our FPV team uses purpose-built drones with cinema-quality cameras for broadcast-ready footage.

What about night aerial filming?

We're authorized for night drone operations with proper lighting systems, enhanced safety protocols, and appropriate certifications. Night flying requires additional planning and authorization, so please discuss requirements early.

How far in advance should we book?

Standard aerial shoots can often be arranged with 1-2 weeks notice. Complex operations requiring special authorizations, restricted airspace access, or multi-drone setups may need 3-4 weeks for proper planning and approval.

Productions in Spain that need this often pair it with Helicopter Filming, High Speed Filming, and Cable Cam Systems for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Camera & Cinematography and Drone Videography.
